The Center for Research on Environmental Disease (CRED) Seminar Series invites both internal and external scientists on subjects that are relevant and timely. The CRED series sponsors an average of 24 seminars each year. In addition to invited speakers, this series also provides video conferenced seminars from various research focus areas, including the DNA Repair Group and the UT Austin Toxicology Series.
The CRED enrichment activities consist of symposia, CRED retreats, and seminars. In addition, the CRED provides limited sponsorship of several recurring local and national/international conferences that involve participation by a significant number of Center members.
Because of the relatively large size of the CRED, communication between the Administrative Core and the participating faculty is facilitated by a newsletter. The newsletter contains information on Center activities of interest to CRED investigators. These include, but are not limited to, announcements of Center-sponsored seminars and other Departmental seminars of interest to the theme of the Center; administrative matters of the Center; Facility Core features; research highlights; Pilot Project updates; and COEC activity highlights.
